We were invited to design and install a digital sound system within this architecturally renowned Wren church in the heart of London to replace the original pre-90s system, which had been removed during the recent extensive renovations of the church's interior.
The new system was designed to be as discreet as possible, ever mindful of the ornate decoration inside the church. It comprises a Yamaha digital system that provides high-quality sound to the nave and Commonwealth chapel as separate zones using discreet line array loudspeakers. AKG GN slim gooseneck microphones were added to the pulpit and lectern, and the existing Sennheiser radio microphones were integrated with the new equipment, resulting in a largely automated system capable of catering to small services held in the Commonwealth Chapel as well as well-attended guild services in the nave.
